Pamela with her daughter Victoria on her wedding day.

An Interview with Pamela Woodrow –  Marriage Celebrant

How long have you been a marriage celebrant?

I have been a celebrant for 4 years. During that time there have been so many different weddings, a variety of ages and situations and it has all been wonderful. We have released white doves, included children, included pets, held a sand ceremony and lit candles.

What is the best part of being a celebrant?

The best part is the beautiful people that I meet. I love getting to know the wedding couples and writing about their ‘Love Story’ and then being part of this special and intimate occasion on the day of the marriage.

Why should we choose you?

I am dedicated to making your wedding day and marriage ceremony everything that you could wish for. I will present your ceremony with style and grace and the full importance it deserves.

I have worked as a teacher of dance and education; a school principal in Australia and overseas; as a choreographer producing children’s pantomimes and dance extravaganzas and bring all these life experiences together to create a beautiful, fun, memorable wedding day for you.

I enjoy writing and therefore writing your unique marriage ceremony will be an absolute joy.

What makes your ceremonies special?

I meet with the couple as much or as little as it requires to find out exactly what they want and for everyone to feel comfortable with each other. I then set about creating the marriage ceremony of their dreams. To this I bring all my experience of performance, ceremony, style and attention to detail.

Why should we choose to marry at ‘Sweetwater’?

‘Sweetwater’ is a very pretty property in a beautiful part of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. The property has rainforest, gardens, and even its own waterfall. It has magnificent views to the coast and looking down the valley towards Brisbane so the photo opportunities are endless and there are different places you may choose to hold your ceremony.

What are your fees?

My standard fee is $700. This includes all meetings, stationery and any travel; writing of the ceremony; completion of all the required legal forms; a wedding rehearsal at a time of your choice; and lodgement of forms after the marriage. On an hourly basis I believe this price is fair and reasonable.

I also offer a ceremony as a pop up wedding for those who just want to “make it legal”.  Ask me about the dates and prices of these.

Do you marry same sex couples?

Most definitely.  I have friends who belong to the LGBTI community and can’t wait until I get my first legal same sex marriage ceremony to perform.

What happens if we change our mind?

I am happy to hold a no obligation meeting with you.  This is your special day so it has to right for you.  There are lots of celebrants and not everyone is going to be ‘the one’ for you. There is no obligation to continue with me.

Sweetwater weddings are romantic and affordable

Once you book your wedding package at Sweetwater Pamela will be there for you.   Whether it is a Micro Wedding or a Weekend Festival she has had plenty of experience and is happy to answer any of your questions and give as much or as little guidance as you require.

Mid-week weddings are popular for some

For those who want a small intimate wedding, you can even get married on top of the hill in my garden and overlooking the coast. A mid-week event with a few friends and a small celebration can be achieved for hundreds rather than thousands of dollars.

A wedding by the waterfall is special

Micro Weddings and Elopements are perfect for a Waterfall Wedding.  The waterfall is in a special secret location with a magical atmosphere.  Only a few weddings are allowed here each year so we can protect the environment.
